題目:Optimizing neural networks from algorithm to chip implementation

講演概要:Artificial neural networks start to be adopted to address real
problems including computer vision tasks and speech recognition. For
wide-spread adoptions, both energy efficiency and performance need to be
improved on embedded systems (e.g., self-driving cars, robots, etc.) as
well as servers. Optimized designs of neural networks involve various
areas from algorithm, software/hardware design to chip implementation.
This talk first gives an example of algorithm optimization and then
focuses on optimizing neural networks, e.g., pruning, low-rank
approximation, bit-width optimization, etc. and software/hardware
implementations on GPU and ASIC.

講師略歴:Professor Sungjoo Yoo received Ph.D. from Seoul National
University in 2000. He worked as researcher at TIMA laboratory, Grenoble
France from 2000 to 2004. He was principal engineer at Samsung System
LSI from 2004 to 2008. He was at POSTECH from 2008 to 2015. He joined
Seoul National University in 2015 and is now associate professor. His
current research interests include low power deep neural networks and
near data processing (processing-in-memory and in-storage processing).
